The May 2018 Local Elections saw the retention of all of the local Conservatives' seat and the gain of Croft Baker Ward, with the borough's youngest Councillor, Oliver Freeston, joining the team.
“North East Lincolnshire has been going downhill for far too long. I was honest with people on the doorstep and told them what was happening. I heard complaints about high council tax, pot holes and speeding. Now there’s someone on the council who will put people before politics.”
Oliver won 27% of the seats, with 1340 votes.
Stewart Swinburn returns to the council after winning back the Immingham seat with 1227 votes, significantly more than his hearest oppointants.
The North East Lincolnshire Conservatives had a very successful night in all, taking seats from both UKIP and Labour. They now hold 18 seats.
